2004 Road Committee Annual Report
The Road Committee had an active year. It is a pleasure working with our Public Works Department as they do a great job in maintaining our infrastructure and reconstructing our highways so that we have a safe and efficient highway system.
We continued guardrail replacement and pavement overlay projects. We hope you all notice how nicely Sugar Hill and Gould Hill came out. We will make our spring evaluations on the roads to see what roads should be brought onto the ten year list.
The development roads have slowed down a little, but we are still looking over all applications to make sure they are all constructed to the Town's standards and to see how they impact the surrounding roads.
It is important for everyone to realize how difficult it becomes to keep the highway system up with the never ending rise in costs from fuel to equipment, but it is our mission to keep our system in excellent condition and keep costs down.
Also we are researching new products and methods in maintaining our roads in hopes we can reduce costs and increase longevity of the system, along with making our roads safer for everyone.
We hope everyone has a safe and smooth ride this year.
