MARRIAGE LICENSE AND MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE
Marriage licenses may be applied for at any Town or City Clerk's office. The license is valid in any New Hampshire city or town. The license will be validfor 90 days from the application date, there is no waiting period (effective July 4, 2006). New Hampshire does not require a blood test.
The cost is $45 for marriage license and $12 for certificate of marriage, payable only with cash or check. Both parties must appear in person at the time of the application. Picture identification is required. For second (and subsequent) marriages, a certified copy of the divorce decree or death certificate must be presented. The application requires listing father’s and mother's places of birth and mother's maiden name.
