Director of Public Works
The Town of Hopkinton (pop. 5600) is seeking a creative, team oriented professional to provide leadership to the Department of Public Works. The Town seeks a seasoned and exemplary manager to lead the department which is responsible for road and bridge maintenance and construction, vehicle maintenance, dam maintenance, engineering, building maintenance, and grounds maintenance including parks and athletic fields. The position is estimated to be 80% administrative and 20% hands-on.
The candidate should have eight years of increasingly responsible experience in public works management, construction, or a related field, including four years of administrative and supervisory responsibility; a Bachelor degree with major course work in civil engineering or related field; OR any combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skill and ability. Must possess a valid CDL Class B driver’s license. This position requires working nights, weekends and holidays to deal with weather events and emergencies. Director must live within 20 miles of the highway garage within one year of employment.

Compensation: Town of Hopkinton Grade 22 ($57,948 to $81,127) depending on qualifications plus a comprehensive benefit package.
