The role of the Planning Board is to give direction to growth and development within the Town of Hopkinton with a view to preserve and enhance the general health and welfare of the residents. By maintaining the Town’s Master Plan, the Board identifies where the community is strong, where it needs improvements and how improvements can best be implemented. The Planning Board encourages orderly land development through the tools of good planning and land use regulations. In addition to the development and implementation of the Town Master Plan, the Planning Board develops the Zoning Ordinance, Zoning Map, Subdivision Regulations, Site Plan Review Regulations, and Capital Improvement Plan for the Town. The Planning Board is authorized to review applications for subdivisions, site plan reviews, lot line
adjustments, voluntary mergers, commercial excavation sites, and personal wireless service facilities.
The Planning Board regularly meets once a month, on the 2nd Tuesday at 7:00 PM to review and vote on various land use applications. Please contact the Planning Director for information on and the procedure for submission of applications. Meeting notices are posted at the Town Hall and Town Clerk’s Office, and published in the Concord Monitor a minimum of 10 days prior to each meeting. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend all meetings.
