Breakfast with Santa
Rescheduled for this Saturday!!
On Saturday December 20th make your way to the Slusser Senior Center to visit with Santa and enjoy a wonderful breakfast. The Hopkinton Recreation Committee along with other volunteers will cook up a hot breakfast to include eggs, pancakes, bacon, toast, muffins, hash browns and more while the kids can have a special visit with Santa and partake in craft activities. The event will be held from 8-11am and the cost is $3.00 per person. All proceeds will go towards operation Christmas organized by the Human Services department and housed at the center. All are welcome!!!
Ginger Bread House Making Workshop
Rescheduled for this Saturday!! Spots available.
On Saturday December 20th the Recreation Department, led by volunteer Liz Durant, will offer a workshop on creating a ginger bread house.~ The workshop will take place at the Slusser Senior Center starting at 1pm and ending at 3pm.~ All tools necessary to build a ginger bread house, along with hot chocolate and cookies, will be provided.~ The cost will be between $12 per ginger bread house kit. This is a family workshop all children need to be accompanied by an adult.~ Call 746-2915 to register.
Santa Calling Program
The Hopkinton Recreation Department is happy to announce that we have made special arrangements for Santa Claus to call the children of Hopkinton/Contoocook this holiday season. Parents can pick up forms at the Slusser Senior Center, Town Hall, and the Library or download them off the web at www.hopkinton-nh.gov (click recreation). Santa will be calling children ages 3-8 on the evening of December 18th and all forms need to be submitted by December 17th. This event is free and brought to you by
the Hopkinton Recreation Department, the Recreation Committee and our dedicated volunteers. Call 746-2915 for more information.
Hopkinton Recreation - Holiday Lights Contest Winners
On Wednesday December 10th the Hopkinton Recreation Committee set out on the town to judge the 2nd Annual Holiday Lights Contest. After the evening was over the judges tallied the scores and the three Judge’s Choice were: Jack, Lisa, Zak, Breanna Ostrander of 191 Clement Hill: Craig, Tania, Jordyn, Jacob Barrett of 64 Pinewood Dr: and Pat Martel of 56 Old Henniker Rd. Each winner will have a large sign displayed in their yard that proclaims them the Judge’s Choice for the Holiday Lights Contest. If you think you have a massive lights display or a peaceful yard exhibit be sure to enter next years contest.

February Break Ski Trip
Join Hopkinton Recreation for a Ski and Ride Trip to Stowe, Vermont.~ The overnight trip will be February 23-24th and is for families and students.~ The cost is $230 per person which includes: roundtrip transportation, 2 days of skiing, one dinner and breakfast and one night of lodging.~ Spots are limited and registering early is recommended.~ Registration packets and additional information can be found on-line at www.hopkinton-nh.gov (click recreation).~ Call 746-2915 with any questions.
Disney on Ice
The Hopkinton Recreation Department has secured a limited amount of discount tickets to the Saturday January 24, 2009, 3pm performance of the Disney on Ice presents Mickey and Minnies Magical Journey. The show is at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester and features Mickey and Minnie Mouse, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Peter Pan, and Lilo & Stitch. The tickets are center ice floor level and are $23 per person. Tickets for are for Hopkinton/Contoocook residents. Call 746-2915 to reserve your tickets.
