Community Scrapbooking – Now on a regular schedule!!
The Recreation Department is happy to announce that Community Scrapbooking will be held the 2nd Friday and 4th Sunday of EVERY month!! Whether you’re young or old, scrapbooking keeps your memories alive. The scrapbooking group is for everyone from beginners to experts and are hosted by volunteers Liz and Patrice. Bring your pictures to organize and scrapbook if you have one. Some other materials and tools will be provided. Fridays are from 6:30pm – 10pm and Sundays from 1:30pm – 5pm and are held at the Slusser Senior Center. Next session is Friday March 12th! Call 746-2915 for more information.
Sports Card and Memorabilia Show
The Hopkinton Recreation Department is hosting their first Sports Card and Memorabilia Show on Saturday April 10 from 10am – 3pm. The show will be held at the Slusser Senior Center and admission is free. We are looking for vendors. Eight foot tables are $10 each and can be reserved by calling 746-2915. Wally the Green Monster will make a special appearance! We will also have a Silent Auction, Red Sox Kid nation memberships, raffle for Red Sox tickets and food. Be sure to mark your calendar for this epic event!
Hopkinton Outdoor and Recreational Guidebook Update
Last call for information!! The Hopkinton Recreation Committee is in the process of creating the third edition of the “Hopkinton Outdoor and Recreational Activities Guidebook”. The purpose of the guidebook is to help residents and tourists find out about different programs/organizations and recreation locations/facilities in town. We are asking all individuals and groups that are already in the guidebook to update their information and if you are interested in seeing if you or your organization can be added to the guidebook please send information to: parkrec@tds.net. Hopkinton Youth Lacrosse
Last Chance to sign-up!! The Hopkinton Recreation Department along with volunteer leaders Rob Thomson and Eric Sideleau are gearing up for a great 2010 Lacrosse season. All boys and girls ages 8 -14 are welcome and no previous experience is necessary. Cost is $65 per player. Summer Movies in the Park
The Hopkinton Recreation Department is pleased to announce that this summer we will be showing THREE Movies in the Park. Saturdays—June 26, July 24 and August 28. The Full Package – Adult/Child/Infant CPR, AED and First Aid
This class taught by the American Red Cross is a full certification class and incorporates all CPR, first aid and AED. The class will be held at the Slusser Senior Center and is $70 per person. Call 746-2915 to sign up. Sign up by March 15th.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame!!
Tickets on Sale Now!! The Hopkinton Recreation Department wants you to join us for two amazing outings to Fenway Park to watch your beloved Boston Red Sox. Each package includes roundtrip transportation from Contoocook to Fenway on a luxury coach, driver gratuity, and a ticket to the ballgame (right field box 87). The cost is $85 per person. The two game choices are- Saturday, April 24th and Sunday, September 19th. The bus will leave Contoocook at 4pm (April 24th) and 10:30am (September 19th). Hopkinton/Contoocook residents have first priority, but if tickets remain, the general public will be able to make
the purchase one month prior to the game. For either of the package deals, upfront payment is required to confirm spot. Call 746-2915 with any questions.
Harlem Globe Trotters Tickets
The Hopkinton Recreation Department has secured a limited amount of discount tickets to the Sunday March 21st 2pm performance of the legendary Harlem Globe Trotters at the Verizon Wireless Arena. Tickets are $20 per person and are in section 123. Hopkinton/Contoocook residents have first priority; call 746-2915 to reserve your tickets.
Easter Egg Hunt
Join the Hopkinton Recreation Department as they welcome back the Easter Bunny! On Saturday, March 27th, join us at Hopkinton High School for the festivities! Doors open at 10:30am, the Bunny will arrive at 11am and the Easter egg hunt will begin at 11:30 am. Children up to third grade can participate in the hunt. There will be face painting, crafts and snacks. Don’t forget your Easter Basket! Please call 746-2915 with any questions.
Summer Employment
The Hopkinton Recreation Department is looking for qualified individuals to work as Camp Counselors and Lifeguards for this summer. Casino Trip
We’re going to Foxwoods!!! Hopkinton Recreation is teaming up with Bow Recreation to bring you a trip to Foxwoods Casino. The trip will be on Sunday, March 28th. The package includes roundtrip transportation on a luxury coach, tip for the driver, a $10 lunch voucher for any food establishment or the buffet, and $15 for Keno. All this for $35 per person. There will be two pick-up locations, departing at 7:30am at the Slusser Senior Center and departing Bow Community Building at 8am. We will arrive at the casino around 10:45am and leave at 5:30pm. Spots are limited; call 746-2915 to register.
Co-Ed Adult Volleyball
Every Sunday night from 7-9pm at the Hopkinton High School gymnasium, come and join us for volleyball. All skill levels are welcome and there is no fee. Just show up ready for a great time!
Stained Glass Club
Come to the Slusser Senior Center every Thursday from 6 - 8pm to work on your stained glass projects or other crafts. If you are a skilled expert in glass making or just learning, do stop by. There will be a mix of levels of skills and if you are new, we can help you get started. Some supplies are available for use, but it is best for you to have your own.
