2012 ~ 4th of July Celebration!
If you would like to celebrate Independence Day with some good old fashion fun, the Hopkinton’s 6th annual 4th of July Family Fun Day is the happening place to be!
To start the day’s festivities, enter your child in the kiddie parade! Pre- registration is required and the parade will begin at 11:30 a.m. Then, be sure to find a viewing spot to enjoy Hopkinton’s annual Independent’s Day Parade! This event begins at noon and travels through the center of Contoocook Village. Immediately following the parade, it’s an easy walk, or drive, to Houston Park where the 4th of July Family Fun Day begins!
This event runs from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. The Hopkinton Recreation Director and the Recreation Committee volunteers have been working hard all year to lined up another fun-filled afternoon just for you and your family! Festivities will include pie eating contests, bubble gum blowing contests, root beer chugging contests, live entertainment, and a variety of games for the children! There is also a silent auction table with some great prizes and several raffles you can enter into.
Our traditional Tookie Cookie Baking Contest will also be another ‘sweet success’ for the event! If you would like to enter your masterpiece into the contest, visit the Hopkinton Recreation Department website for contest rules and registration information. King Arthur Flour will be, once again, sponsoring the event and will be providing great prizes to the winners!
You won’t find commercial vendors at this event! We take pride in working with our local organizations and, with their assistance, are able to provide low cost snacks and meal to our guests. Due to contributions made by local and surrounding community businesses, this event is free! Donations are appreciated and will be accepted at various locations throughout the event.
