Hopkinton is governed by a Board Selectmen comprised of five elected board members. The Selectmen oversee the town government and the traditional March town meeting remains the centerpiece of the political scene.

Retaining the option of scheduling additional meeting as the occasion may warrant, the following schedule for the year 2009 that avoids meeting on Monday holidays and is coincident with the bi-weelky payroll cycle.
