The Tax Collector’s office is responsible for collecting revenue for property taxes, current use, yield and excavation taxes, and Contoocook precinct water & sewer fees. We strive to respond to all inquiries in a courteous and timely manner.

The tax year runs from April 1 to March 31. Property taxes are billed semi-annually, due July 1st and December 1st. The July bill is an estimated bill, based on 1/2 of the previous year's total. Tax rates are set by the State Department of Revenue Administration in October. The December bill is calculated with the new tax rate, multiplied by the property assessment, less the bill that was due July 1st.

The tax maps and property cards are located at the Assessor's office in the Town Hall, 330 Main Street, Hopkinton. Contact the Assessor's office for inquiries about veteran credits, elderly tax exemptions and abatement requests.
