Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Hopkinton Fire Department to provide the highest quality of Emergency Services to the residents of Hopkinton and its surrounding communities through education, training, experience and commitment of its members.

About the Hopkinton Fire Department

The Hopkinton Fire Department is a combination Fire Department providing 24 hour Fire Suppression and Paramedic Ambulance services.The Hopkinton Fire Department operates out of two stations. The department is comprised of 6 career Firefighters, the fulltime Fire Chief and a call force of 31 Firefighters and EMTs. The Contoocook Fire Station, located at 9 Pine Street, is staffed 24/7 by a Firefighter/Paramedic and a Firefighter/EMT. The Fire Chief's office hours are 8am - 4pm Monday through Friday. The Hopkinton Fire Station, located at 110 Main Street, is unmanned and houses one engine, one tanker and one forestry unit.

The Hopkinton Fire Department is a member of the Capital Area Mutual Fire Aid Compact. Members of the Capital Area provide apparatus and personnel free of charge to one another during larger incidents and when handling multiple calls at once. The Capital Area is dispatched by Concord Fire Alarm.

The resource hospital for the Hopkinton Fire Department is Concord Hospital. Concord Hospital is considered a Level 2 Trauma Center and can handle the overwhelming majority of medical and trauma patients we encounter. Air Medical Transport by helicopter to Dartmouth Hospital or Mass General Hospital is available for our patients who require a Level 1 Trauma Center or specialty care.

In addition to the services provided to the residents and visitors of Hopkinton, the Hopkinton Fire Department also has contracts to provide paramedic level transport for the Warner and Webster Fire Departments. The Hopkinton Fire Department also provides paramedic intercepts to surrounding towns when their patients require advanced care and their own paramedics are unavailable.
