The Town of Hopkinton has applied for funds through the State of New Hampshire Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) to finance a water infrastructure improvement project.

The Hopkinton Septage Facility contains five septage lagoons the Town intends to close. Closure of the lagoons will include excavation and removal of the septage material and dewatering of the excavated material. A monofill will be constructed to include placement of a stone section and stable base material before the placement of the dewatered septage material and construction of an impermeable cap. Disturbed areas will see revegetation. Total project disturbance area is approximately 320,000 square feet.

All required permits and approvals will be obtained prior to construction.

Whereas this project constitutes only a minor project and no significant environmental impacts are anticipated, a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) is proposed.

This public notice is published in accordance with Env-Wq 500 and a 30-day comment period will be held. Comments will be accepted through June 17, 2026.
