Hopkinton Economic Revitalization Zones (ERZ)

Hopkinton has two Economic Revitalization Zones (ERZ), a tax credit program that offers a short-term NH business tax credit for projects that improve infrastructure and create jobs in a designated ERZ area. These two designated zones are in the Contoocook Village and in the area surrounding Exit 6 of I-89. Businesses proposing to locate in these areas are able to apply to the state for a tax credit to be applied towards their state tax liabilities.  Information on Hopkinton ERZs

Community Revitalization Tax Incentive

The Town of Hopkinton at its Town Meeting in 2009 adopted the Community Revitalization Tax Incentive Plan which encourages investment in central business districts, neighborhood business districts, downtowns, and village centers.  Its goal is to encourage the rehabilitation and actice reuse of underutilized buildings and, in so doing, to promote strong local economies and promote smart, sustainable growth, as an alternative to sprawl.  Information on Hopkinton's Community Revitalization Tax Incentive
